Polygloss / Polymatte is made by bonding Polyester onto the surface of a double faced melamine board with MDF substrate. The finished thickness is 3/4″ (19mm). As the film of Polyester is clear, the color of the finished board is determined by the color of the melamine board. Polygloss colors range from solid colors to wood-grains. A PET foil is applied to a wood based panel. The foil is UV and abrasion resistant which means that damage is less likely to occur during manufacturing and installation.
Once the protective film has been removed, surfaces should be polished with an acrylic enriched Rally car polish. Thereafter, marks can be removed with a damp cotton cloth if necessary.
Polygloss is waterproof and is resistant to scratches and dents.
